0- Fool: A Carefree youth with very little experience takes trusting steps into the unknown. His uninhibited approach to the world is filled with adventure. The Fool will be confronted with many challenges that are necessary steps into maturity. He is watched closely by spirit guides, ready to help along the way.
1- Magician: A master of Alchemy works with the complexity of the elements; water, air, fire, earth. He has the ability to balance oppositions between heaven and earth, exoteric with esoteric, and the masculine and feminine. What appears to be effortless is truly the culmination of many generations.
2- Shaman: Wisdom is gained through a personal connection to nature. As branches reach out to the heavens, deep roots weave their way inward to form a strong foundation for the community. When these primary sources are securely tapped into, intuitive insight flows freely, and balance is maintained.
3- Queen: Empathy, altruism and compassion are ideals upheld by this important figure of the royal court. An open heart is the queens gift to the world. Receiving this embrace of understanding and acceptance is an honor and just an arm’s length away.
4- King: Stability is a quality essential for this role. He holds a delicate balance between the law of the land and allowing for positive change for the future. The King must have a clear mind and a strong body to quickly protect the land and citizens at all times. If this position is abused one can easily become a dictator or tyrant, forcing the goals of one onto many.
5- Hierophant: Ancient Traditions and teachings are protected by a sacred elder of the community. A Pope of the Catholic faith or a Lama of Buddhism are revered for their direct connection to ancient law. Although man or dogma cannot contain the forces of the universe within their limited forms, there is great power and wisdom in preserving these ancient practices.
6- Lovers: Connection is found through discovering similarities and celebrating differences. Enjoy the moments where the boundaries are blurred and the two become one. Honor the moments when a partner takes a stand and draws a strong defining boundary. One is often shaped by how they interact with their surroundings. Hold gently the balance of these borders.
7- Chariot: Advancement on the path of self-actualization only begins after breaking free of life’s conditioning and traditions. Now is the opportunity to advance beyond the common rules and begin the journey of mastering one’s own destination. The direction of one’s path is precarious and can change quickly depending on how the reins are held.
8- Justice: Karma can be defined in scientific terms: “For every action, there is a reaction”. The universe has rules and if they are broken there are consequences. In this world, one is held accountable for one’s actions, like it or not. Consciousness begins with an awareness of how one plays a part in this world of cause and effect.
9- Hermit: Introspection is essential for exploring the hidden aspects of oneself. Although isolation is often feared and avoided, the practice of cutting ties to outward distractions is essential for personal transformation. This new breathing space found in silence and emptiness is where the unknown and unexpected can start to shape a new future.
10- Wheel of Fortune: Attachments to an emotional existence bind like chains, imprisoning one to the ups and downs of life. Adrenaline is addictive and makes one feel alive. Enjoy the crazy ride while you can. Remember, there are ways to sit beside the whirlwind without getting attached to the immediate emotion.
11- Strength: Courage to see a powerful natural force in one's self, will disarm the remaining shackles of self-doubt. True strength is found in feeling a connection to one’s animal nature.
12- Hangman: Sacrifice and surrender are the only viable responses at this point in the journey. The world has turned up- side-down and surface things begin to fall away. Hanging precariously within the unknown is essential. There is a sense of relief and calm with letting go.
13- Death: The unwelcome guest, harvesting the fruits of life with its sharp blade. What used to be animated with life is now still and bare-boned. Although often avoided, this final death song may be the very thing needed to move on. From these fatal confines new life will emerge; Metamorphosis.
14- Temperance: A choice to live in Moderation, requires self- discipline. Finding one’s relationship to the elements is an individual pursuit. What is excessive for one person may not be for another. It is time to pull back a bit while staying connected.
15- Devil: Living in fear can feel like hell, complete with it's inner tortures and torments. Projection of a dark aspect onto another systematically dehumanizes them and promotes suffering. Discovering one's Paradox-ical role in this puppet play of good versus evil gives opportunity for change. Observing the impulses of fear, anger or hatred reveals potential pathways for practicing compassion.
17- Star: Sitting still in darkness, eyes gazing inward, there is a pinprick point where the hard shell of the heavens crack and a glimmer of Hope shines through. A star is a sun, so far away its appearance is just a speck among millions of other specks. Honoring the seemingly minuscule will transform the darkest times into glorious light.

18- Moon: Shifty in nature, constantly changing its shape, this not-so-heavenly body mimics our emotions. Is it a friend or foe? Finding a way to guide its unruly nature requires one to sit loosely in the saddle. A true master is not rigid but as fluid as the tides of the ocean.
19- The Sun: Through a new self-awareness and spiritual Enlightenment, one becomes fully available to the joys life and community. One can take delight in the brilliance of their achievements and bask in the glory of their profound work. The fruits of one's labors can be harvested and shared.
20- Judgement: Nearing the end of the journey one stands in the spotlight, exposing their true nature while the world scrutinizes. Standing tall and Transparent is a selfless and honorable gift for the community. In this willingness to be seen and permeated one’s truth is put to the test.
21- Worlds: After a long journey of spiritual development, there may be an experience of Transcendence. The filters and defenses have dropped and the world can be fully experienced beyond judgement and time. This state of no separation between oneself and the universe is fleeting, so enjoy it while it lasts.
